Today it sounds... Powaqqatsi by Philip Glass
Damn it facebook! I blame you!! I usually wrote in the blog about soundtracks or specific tracks but now... now it's easier for me share a link and all the work it's done. Well... not all the work. I miss the comments about the composer or the instruments used in the score.
Today, I return with a composer described as minimalist, Philip Glass. One of the most popular songs in the Powaqqatsi score is the Anthem, also used in The Truman Show (a masterpierce film). The docu-film Powaqqatsi starts with a mine scene located in Brazil, Serra Pelada also the name of the first track in the score.
Combining child chorus with all-of-the-instruments-that-you-can-put-into-a-song (no no seriously, there are more triangles, whistles and percussion than any others) we have an extraordinary track more powerful with the images from the mine.
Powaqqatsi - Life in Transformation.
